icallshotgun are an exciting and original rock band formed in Canterbury in March 2005. The bands fresh sound has been described as groove-rock, blending influences such as Nirvana, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age and The Cure with their own soaring vocals, stun guitars and pounding drums. The band are proud of their originality and passionate live performances. During a recent press interview for the Kent Messenger, Paul Wroe (vocals) stated, "We are not about following the latest trend or new fashion ideals, our music speaks for itself and the energy in our live performances is where we really connect with people". The band have been receiving rave reviews from fans and promoters on the strength of their music and live shows. They recently enjoyed a No.1 with In the Fall on KMFMs new bands chart and comments from fans on the bands myspace website are testimony to this. As a result they were booked to play Kent's major outdoor musical festival this summer called 'Lounge on the Farm' alongside more established signed acts like Nizlopi. The guys have a reputation for high energy live performances and recently reached through to the semi-finals of East Kents premier Battle of the Bands Competition at the Beacon Court Tavern (to be held in November 06). icallshotgun is very much a team effort and the band are clear that none of their triumphs would have been possible without the help and support of their family and friends. Following a sold out Leicester Square show in June 2006 icallshotgun are planning to build on their successes and take their live shows into the pubs and clubs of Camden.
